South Park Creators travel to Europe for American Islomophobic Hate Fest


"Join Reason.org in Amsterdam for a three-day conference on the contemporary struggle for freedom in Europe"

This is how a conference, Scheduled to happen this Summer in Amsterdam by an American right wing, "free marketer" online magazine, is being billed. Ostensibly it is about "freedom of speech" but it is nothing of the sort. It is a conference to shore up support amongst the wealthy (entry is £232.80 a pop!) in Europe for islamophobic hatred and "pro (current) US" foreign policy.

"Amidst the beauty of Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and colorful people, attendees of Reason in Amsterdam, 2006 will enjoy a unique opportunity to learn about the contemporary struggle in Europe from prominent European and American intellectuals.
After a kick-off dinner on Wednesday, August 23, attendees will enjoy two days of formal sessions on Dutch social policy and the threat of radical Islam".

The main guest are going to be Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park who have unbelievably tied their names to the event. other speakers include Veronique de Rugy, a Newt Gingrich affiliated intellectual and George Passantino a full time advisor to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

One of its other main speakers, Bruce Bawer has turned the minor inconveniences he has encountered as an American living in Europe into some sort of islamophobic quest, again under the guise of freedom of speech.

A protest at the conference might be a good way to let them know how unwelcome they are in Europe!
